Program Description
K-12 and adults: Ruth sketches on an oversize easel pad throughout the presentation, targeting the program to the audience age to get maximum benefit for the audience. Art literacy studies show that incorporating art into writing and science exercises helps students remember more, and produce work above the level they usually work. Ruth uses these principles to bring sketch-journaling into students' lives.Her Ellie McDoodle series is the main character's sketch journal; many classrooms have used the Ellie books as a tool to teach students how to sketch and journal their own personal narrative, historical events, fiction, progress toward fitness goals, and science and nature.

Group Size:
Accomodates all group sizes. Workshops in smaller groups.

Fees: Generally, $150 per fifty minute session (will do up to three or four a day). Plus travel.
