Meet Sandy Carlson!

Sandy was born in Adrian, Michigan, bounced around to many different states, and has now returned. She’s taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th graders, was a Literacy Teacher for K-2, and also a Youth Education Specialist at the Leila Arboretum Society in Battle Creek.

She’s attended many writing conferences and is a past president of the Black Hills Writers Group. She joined SCBWI in 1995.

She's been published in magazines, including Cricket, Once Upon a Time, and Wisconsin Library Bulletin. She writes daily and contributes a weekly humor column for the on-line edition of the Battle Creek Enquirer. (Typing in "Sandy Carlson" in the search box will lead you to her column.)

Sandy joined our Advisory Committee in 2006.
