Meet Monica Harris!
Background information: I’ve been an active member of SCBWI for more than 13 years. In that time, I have accumulated 4 years of experience on the SCBWI-MI Advisory Committee in-between moving from country to country. I am a non-specific genre writer having easy reader nonfiction, picture book, educational, and magazine pieces published. Currently living in Kalamazoo, Michigan with husband, Doug, and two daughters, Meaghan and Angela.

Do you have a fond memory of SCBWI Michigan to share? For my very first fall conference, I decided to put together a beautiful floral arrangement within a pumpkin for the silent auction table. During that weekend, Carol Fenner gave a phenomenal presentation and I was awe-struck. She was vibrant, entertaining, inspiring, and humble. THEN, when Carol outbid everyone on my floral arrangement, I just about died! A famous author craved a piece of my creativeness?! Oh, I was walking on cloud 9 for weeks. J
