All Full Members (not associate) are entitled to vote in SCBWI elections.

If you have been published since joining, send your news to the membership office and request that your membership be changed from associate to full membership status. Membership fees are the same; it costs only your time to make the change.

There are few distinctions in the two types of membership, one being eligibility to vote. Also, full members who have a website up and running which reflects their published work for children can request a link from the SCBWI website to their personal site.

Distinctions on a regional level may vary. Chapters who offer additional programs/services to their regional members may require full status for some services.

In Michigan, only full members may be included on our Speakers List, Michigan Children's Authors and Illustrators lists, and their books included in our "book" section, though some additional restrictions apply. See Members Only for more information.
