Programs
"Career Day" style presentation with Q&A - High School only - prefer classroom size groups

Program discusses: what an illustrator does, what sort of skills you need, the truth about being freelance/self employed, the difference between Children's Book illustration and other forms of illustration, the rewards of being a children's book illustrator. Session is accompanied by examples of the artist work and is generally followed by a Q&A period.

Industry/professional - conferences & lectures for illustrators - available to speak on a wide range of topics such as:

  • Portfolio Basics - for aspiring illustrators - prefer groups of 50 or less
  • Program Topics: Content do's & don'ts, good vs. bad presentation, the goal of a portfolio - it's not just for getting a job, Q&A period.
  • Self Promotion - for aspiring & fledgling illustrators - prefer groups of 50 or less
    Program topics: Do's & Don'ts for getting noticed, building a mailing list from the ground up, Who, what, where, when, - what information should you be keeping track of and why, How to create a highly effective mailer, The "Portfolio Blitz" or how to get your portfolio through the door, Q&A period.
  • Making a Book - an Illustrators perspective - general interest - presentation suitable for large groups
    Program topics: a step-by-step look at the artists experiences from getting "The" phone call, to seeing the book on the shelf of a Barnes & Noble, and beyond.
